More than a Shoebox. Since 1993, Samaritan’s Purse has delivered shoebox gifts packed by caring people like you to more than 135 million children around the world. Every shoebox gift you pack helps reach children worldwide with the Good News of God’s love and a deeper understanding of what Christmas is all about.

How to Pack a Shoebox

1. Shoebox – It’s easy!

  • Get a standard size shoebox or plastic container with lid. Shoeboxes are available at the guest service table as well.
  • Select the Gender/Age for your gift: a girl or a boy, ages: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Every box needs a label to indicate gender and age which can be either printed through Samaritan’s Purse website or they are also available at the guest service table.
  • Include a “wow” toy & add other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies (guidelines of what not to include listed below)
  • Donate $9 to send your gift overseas: either online to receive a tracking label to Follow Your Box to see the destination of your shoebox gift or place the donation in the shoebox. A donation of $9 is critical to cover shipping and other project costs.
  • We will be collecting shoeboxes over the next couple months. The last day to bring in your shoebox is November 19th.

Please note: Two major changes this year is we can no longer pack toothpaste or candy of any kind in the shoeboxes. Also do not include, used or damaged items; war-related items such as a toy gun, knives or military figures; seeds; food; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; no aerosol cans.

2. Pray over your box!

Every gift-filled shoebox is a powerful tool for evangelism and discipleship; transforming the lives of children and their families around the world through the Good News of Jesus Christ! After receiving a shoebox, children are invited back to learn what it means to faithfully follow Christ and share their faith with others. Hundreds of thousands of children make decisions for Jesus Christ and many churches have been planted because of a shoebox.
